The Canada Lynx, Eurasian Lynx, and Spanish Lynx are very similar in appearance with nearly identical body proportions. The major diference is in average body size. All Lynx have long legs, big paws, and black ear tuffs. Basic coat color can vary from yellowish-brown to gray. The coats of Eurasian and Spanish Lynx normally have well defined black spots, and a distinct ruff of fur around the neck.

The Lynx prefere a forest with well developed undergrowth for cover. However, the lynx is very adaptable and can live in rocky areas, open forest, scrub brush, and even dunes.

Lynx can be found in Northern North America, Central & Western Europe, the USSR, Scandinavia, Asin Minor, Iran, Iraq, and Central Asia, and parts of Spain and Portugal.

Rabbits are the most common lynx pray species but they also eat birds, rodents, and small deer.
