Ken Hatfield Memorial Scholarship

The Ken Hatfield Memorial Scholarship Fund is offering grants for studies relating to exotic or zoo animal medicine. The awards are made to Veterinarians or students pursuing a veterinary degree and who will be studying zoological medicine during the term for which the grant is requested. The amount of the grant(s) will reflect the financial need and the number of requests received. This fund has been established by the LIOC Endangered Species Conservation Federation to promote the study and practice of exotic animal medicine, especially, though not exclusively related to non- domestic felines. The procedure to apply for financial assistance with such studies follows.

The application shall be in letter form (Email is acceptable) and shall contain (but not be limited to) the following information:

  1. Evidence of enrollment in a course of study in zoological medicine. (For example, a copy of the course enrollment receipt or form.)
  2. A description of the course to be studied.
  3. The name, address, 'phone number and social security number of the applicant.
  4. Letters of recommendation - personal and academic.
  5. A discussion of the applicant's interest in exotic medicine and plans for future practice in the exotic animal area. Applications should be sent to:
