NO CATS
The city of Wichita agreed to allow us to bring in wild cats with certain restrictions. We have met all requirements or gotten them waived, with the exception of the City Attorney's insistence that we purchase a $100,000 policy to insure the City of Wichita will be held blameless in the event of an "incident". Our record of 30 annual conventions without incident doesn't help since Wichita had an "incident" in recent history. Recent inquiries with insurance companies would indicate that due to the events of September 11, such an event policy is unavailable, even if LIOC could afford to pay a substantial premium. Consequently, we will NOT have cats to this conference. We will keep you apprised of any changes.
