The LIOC-ESCF is governd by a Board of Directors consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, four Term Directors and four Life Directors. All are elected to serve two year terms, except the Life Directors who serve for life or until their resignation.

The LIOC-ESCF Directors serve as a thread of continuity. These people are those who have demonstrated a timeless interest in the LIOC-ESCF and it's goals and purpose.

The precise duties and realms of influence of each of the Officers and Directors is contained in detail in the By-laws. Briefly, however, the other officers and directors are responsible for the following:

PRESIDENT
The President is the official spokesman for the LIOC. He or she coordinates and presides at all meetings. The President is also responsible for implementing the decisions of the Board as a whole.

VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President would take over the President's duties in his absence, and is also responsible for co-ordinating with the various Branches.

SECRETARY/TREASURER
This director is our record keeper, and is responsible for the montary aspects of the organization.

MEMBER SERVICES
Member Services is ultimately responsible for all services provided by the LIOC to it's members, with the exception of the Newsletter.

ADVERTISING AND PUBLICITY
The director of Advertising and Publicity solicits advertising, coordinates and elicits fundraising programs, as well as coordinating with the Editor any display advertising.

LEGAL AFFAIRS
The director of Legal Affairs coordinates and attempts to stay abreat of legislation, rules and regulations which affect exotic ownership, or permit requirements on both state and federal levels.

CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION
This director develops educational programs and materials, maintains contact with other organization with compatible programs.
