ARTICLE 5 - Term Directors

5.1 There are four (4) Term Directors who are elected to chair permanent, standing committees as Directors of: A. Member Services B. Education and Conservation C. Legal Affairs D. Advertising, Publicity and Fundraising

5.2 Each Term Director may appoint others to help with the duties of their office. All duties are at the discretion of the Board and are not limited to the broad outlines listed below.

5.3 Member Services: maintains the membership lists in such an order as to provide information as requested by the Board. Answers inquiries and forwards to the nearest Branch for follow up. Provides the Newsletter Editor with renewal notices; compiles membership reports on a timely basis to the Board members and Branches.

5.4 Education and Conservation: Coordinates the development of educational materials, contacts other organizations who might have compatible programs and advises members of these programs.

5.5 Legal Affairs: keeps current on legislation affecting the membership, notifying the Newsletter Editor as needed of pending legislation. Maintains a list of departments responsible for applicable legislation and assists members in the application for permits where possible.

5.6 Advertising, Publicity & Fundraising: solicits display advertising, contacts other publications for promotion of LIOC and explores ways to fund LIOC projects.

5.7 All Term Directors will submit the upcoming year's projects along with their anticipated costs at least sixty (60) days prior to convention to the President and Secretary/Treasurer and Vice President for inclusion in the budget and agenda.

ARTICLE 6 - Life Directors

6.1 There are four (4) Life Directors who are elected for life provided they remain members in good standing or until they tender their resignation. (8/92)

6.2 Life Directors provide guidance and a line of continuity for the Corporation. They oversee adherence to LIOC's purpose and assist in special projects where needed.
